Sheriff Neely of the Berwick Police Department has called on locals from neighboring towns to help in locating missing teenager Brandon Whithers, who authorities initially classified as a runaway.
“Cell towers last pinged Brandon’s cell phone out by Thrush Hollow Road and SR 210,” Neely told WVNY’s Lanie Coskill. The Sheriff also confirmed that deputies had interviewed Shelly Withers, Brandon’s mother, and her boyfriend, Seth Fletcher. Unfortunately, they couldn’t pinpoint a date for Brandon’s actual disappearance, as police were only contacted after Berwick High guidance counselor Andrea Torrance reached out to Mrs. Withers about her son having missed enough days to be in danger of being left back. Withers, who is estranged from the boy’s father, reported her son missing the following week. Brandon is described as caucasian, five foot ten, one hundred sixty pounds with brown hair and a scar on his right thumb.
